40 Podcasts for 40 Days

by The Ascension Team | Feb 17, 2023 | Ascension Articles, Holy Days & Holidays | 0 comments

Whether you’ve been praying and preparing for Lent since the Epiphany or you just realized you have less than a week to rid your house of chocolate, ready or not, the time is here.

Never fear. Ascension always has your back. We put together a playlist of Ascension podcasts for your Lenten journey and titled this Spotify playlist 40 Podcasts for 40 Days. Lent is a time for renewal. It’s a season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This playlist will lead you into the wilderness with Jesus, teach you the true meaning of Lent, and supplement your other practices.

Don’t have Spotify? Scroll down to access the whole playlist on our website.

In the first few days of podcasts, Fr. Mike teaches us the purpose of Lent while Dr. Edward Sri guides us through the important practices we should implement during this time. You’ll learn tips on strategizing your 40 days from Jeff Cavins and six ideas for you to have the best Lent ever from Danielle Bean.

As your journey progresses and the excitement and drive you had at the beginning of this season begins to wear off, these podcasts will remind you of the importance of fasting, the power of Confession, and the true meaning of suffering. Fr. Josh Johnson walks us through the sadness we might feel halfway through the journey, while Michael Gormley and Dave VanVickle teach us how to uproot sin. These podcasts equip you to battle temptation, grow in love with Christ, and work through this 40-day process.

Finally, this playlist brings you through Holy Week. In the final days of Lent, these podcasts teach you to follow the Lord’s example he set forth during his Passion. You’ll learn why Judas betrayed Jesus, the role of hope during this time, and what our mission is now. Throughout this playlist, we’ll equip you with prayers and meditations that guide your heart and soul into the desert and closer to Christ.

We encourage you to listen to this playlist, “like” it, share it with your friends, and experience a transformative Lent that God intends for you this year. We’re praying for you!
