Meet Your Host: Jeff Cavins
Jeff Cavins is passionate about helping people understand Scripture and become disciples of Jesus Christ. Though he was born Catholic, Jeff went to Bible school and served as a protestant minister for twelve years before reverting to the Catholic Faith. Jeff then received his MA in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Since then, he has become a leading Catholic evangelist and author.
Jeff created The Bible Timeline learning system, which revolutionized Catholic Bible Study for millions of Catholics. Since its introduction, Jeff has developed The Great Adventure series of Bible studies to help people better understand Sacred Scripture and its meaning for their lives.
I went to Catholic School as a child! When I wanted to convert – my Mother said no and promptly sent me to public schools. Although I attended church(s) I never felt ‘at home’! I married a ‘cradle’ Catholic; went thru the annulment process and am now ‘where I belong’! I have so enjoyed both the BIY & CIY studies. I am on CIY Day 167! I do miss some days during the week but I always go back. I have such ‘Peace Joy & Love’ in my life now – never thought this was possible… Thanks to you and Fr Mike.

I have found studying the Catholic Catechism in a Year revolutionary for both understanding and transforming my heart Having been in Catholic Bible Studies for a very long time, I have referred to passages in the Catechism as suggested by various studies I was working on. While illuminating details in Bible Study is helpful, reading this document all the way through has changed my Catholic walk. My father-in-law, a deacon, gave it to us a very long time ago. I had never read it in the way we are with Father Mike in this study. I have invited many Catholics and some non Catholics to participate. We touch base before or after Mass to talk about how this study is a game changer. Thank you to Father Mike and the whole team at Ascension for creating Bible in a Year, (you did a mighty work there, Jeff) and Catechism in a Year. We are hungry for understanding in our church and you are providing it!
