We all desperately need hope in our lives, especially when we feel alone. Today, Jeff defines true hope, explains how you can walk in this hope, and describes the surprising difference between using the words “hope” and “hopefully.” Learn to stand on the hope God gave you as a foundation for your life. Discover how the very thing causing you despair and pain can become a door of hope for you.
Let these Scriptures minister to your heart:
Psalms 9:18 – But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish.
Psalms 25:3 – No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.
Psalms 25:5 – Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalms 25:21 – May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.
Psalms 33:18-22 – But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
Psalms 42:5-6 – Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon–from Mount Mizar.
Psalms 119:49-50 – Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Psalms 119:81 – My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.

Isaiah 40:28-31 – Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Jeremiah 14:22 – Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, O LORD our God. Therefore, our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 31:17 – “So there is hope for your future,” declares the LORD. “Your children will return to their own land.”

Romans 15:4 – For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Colossians 1:3-5 – We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints– the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel.
Colossians 1:22-23 – But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation– if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Hebrews 6:17-19 – Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.
