Life is no where like a deck of cards. I do not think either have you have been around those who have grown up with very bad hardships in life. I know women and men in second world countries with children with autism. They are not accepted in schools, and I think you can guess they rest of their difficulties. 95% of prostitutes have been abused in some way, so is it really a choice? Children from orphanages in poorer countries have difficulties. Have either of you read books by, Father Boyle who works with the gangs in LA! Books such as Tattoos on the Heart. Yes having prudence is good but this idea of just making the right choice does not work for many. Maybe rewrite your book after you visit some of these people!
