Do you ever find yourself despairing of ever having a meaningful prayer life? This week we are sharing about ways to “pray all day” and become more aware of God’s presence in your life, even if you are a very busy and distracted person.
Do you ever find yourself despairing of ever having a meaningful prayer life? Let’s talk about that! Do you ever find yourself saying “My whole life is a prayer,” but knowing it’s really an excuse and you could do better?
Well, the good news is that “doing better” does not have to mean spending time you don’t have doing something tedious for God. Prayer is meant to be a way to connect with your Creator, something that can bring you great joy and satisfaction. Have you ever considered the idea of “resting in God” as something your busy life might need more of?
This week we are sharing about ways to “pray all day” and become more aware of God’s presence in your life, even if you are a very busy and distracted person. I share an old column of mine to get us started:
A Mother’s Liturgy of the Hours
And then we discuss some different everyday life events that bit prompt us toward making small prayers throughout our busy days. Some examples:
- Morning Offering
- Sign of the Cross
- “Jesus, Mary, I love you, save souls!”
- “Thy will be done.”
- “Come, Holy Spirit, come.”
- “Blessed be the name of the Lord!”
- “Jesus, I trust in you”
- “Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like yours.”
- “O Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, have mercy on us.”
- “Or simply speak the name of JESUS when you are tempted to do something wrong or need help or straight of any kind.”
Let me know what small prayers you like to say and how they help you “pray all day”!
