Seeking Rest (with Sonja Corbitt)

This week we are joined by Catholic author, podcaster, and retreat leader Sonja Corbitt. Sonja shares with us about her new book, Just Rest: Receiving God’s Renewing Presence in the Deserts of Your Life.

Snippet from the Show

“Connection is more important than perfection.”

Shownotes

One of the fruits of rest is being able to reevaluate what is important and to be present to those around you.

Shownotes

Why is the idea of “resting” such a hard thing for us to understand and do? What does God mean when he invites us to “rest” in him? In what ways do we get in our own way sometimes and hinder our relationship with God when we ignore his invitation to authentic rest?

In our conversation, Sonja shares from Scripture and her own experiences to inspire us toward a greater understanding of what rest is and the spiritual lessons and encouragement we can find to embrace it in Scripture.

At the end of today’s show, I share voicemail feedback from Rose who wonders about vocation resources for Catholic men. Have feedback or an idea to share? I would love to hear from you!
