There are times in our lives when we either hide from God or we feel like God is hiding from us. Today, Jeff uses Scripture to remind us that God is always searching for us no matter how much we try to hide from him. Sometimes it’s not so much about finding God, but rather it’s about letting ourselves be found by him.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13
Shownotes
Playing hide-and-go seek with God started with Adam and Eve hiding from God after the fall. When sin enters our lives, we all have the tendency to run away from God and hide in our shame. We can hide in alcohol, drugs, painkillers, the internet and even hobbies to keep ourselves busy. However, God is not afraid of our brokenness and sin. He sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to find us and bring us home. The Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us that God draws close to us at every time and every place. He never hides us from and never stops looking for us, he wants to be found by us more than we want to find him. God does not want us to remain in the shadows, he is a tender and merciful Father who desires freedom and healing for us. If you simply let yourself be found by God, everything will change.
“God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.”– CCC 1
