Shownotes

Sacraments vs. Sacramentals

The sacraments are the seven ways that God communicates or restores his divine life, so we can fully cooperate with Christ. They are an outpouring of grace.

Sacramentals are things that participate in sacramental graces, such as the Bible, crucifixes, or miraculous medals. They are meant to stir up into flame the gift of faith and grace that the sacraments have already communicated.

Why is Baptism important?

Baptism is a revolution in the soul that places it under the rule of Jesus Christ, overthrowing the powers of darkness. It is important to view baptism as a spiritual reality, not a cultural ritual. Baptism is a full renouncement of evil, and as such has an exorcistic quality.
