Zeus, Poseidon, Aphrodite…perhaps, you are familiar with these names as they are three of the twelve Olympians of Greek Mythology. During his travels to Greece, Jeff Cavins shares his thoughts on the Olympians and marks some of the major distinctions between them and the one, true God. Jeff also discusses some of the “false gods” in the culture today.

How is God different from the Greek gods?
God does not distance himself from his people. He comes into our midst and is with us always. In the Old Testament, God was present to the people of Israel in the tabernacle, in a cloud, and in a pillar of fire. God made himself accessible so that the people would know him and strive to be like him.
In the New Testament, God became incarnate. He became man and lived among us. He made himself vulnerable so that he could love us and reveal himself even more to us.
Proverbs 13:12
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a wish fulfilled is a tree of life.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
