Are you familiar with the Five Love Languages, a concept popularized by author Dr. Gary Chapman? Today, let’s look at the love languages in terms of our relationship with Jesus. Jesus is fully God and fully human. We sometimes forget that Jesus is truly human, though. It can be helpful sometimes to reflect on the very human ways that he loves us and wants to connect with us. Let’s do that today with the idea of the five love languages. How does Jesus want you to love him in each of these ways?

Five Love Languages:
- Words of Affirmation
We can love Jesus and thank him in our prayers, but also in our conversations with others.
- Quality Time
We can make daily prayer time a priority and not allow other things to take up that space in our daily routines.
- Physical Touch
We can connect with Jesus’ physical presence through the sacraments — especially the Eucharist and Confession.
- Acts of Service
We can look for ways to offer up small sacrifices for the love of God.
- Receiving Gifts
The gift Jesus wants most from us is the gift of ourselves. We can consecrate our lives to him and give him our life, our work, and our will.

Megan Madden
Megan Madden is a homeschooling mother with a passion for writing and speaking on authentic femininity and virtuous womanhood. In 2017, she began graduate studies in marriage and family at the International Theological Institute in Austria. After moving to Kraków, Poland to work with university students, Megan more personally continued her research on the complementarity of man and woman, particularly on the question of what it means to be a woman. She delved into the study of renowned Catholic writers on women such as St. Edith Stein, Gertrude von le Fort, Alice von Hildebrand, St. John Paul II, and St. Teresa of Avila.
The results were the development of Megan’s online ministry A Mother’s Lace, as well as speaking opportunities and her book with Ascension: Mary, Teach Me to Be Your Daughter.
Megan lives outside of Oxford, England with her husband, who is a lecturer in theology, and their five children.
