It’s OK to Not Be OK

How are you doing? Not so great? Me too.

This week, I’m sharing from my heart about some of the ways this time of quarantine and social isolation has been challenging for me and my family. I want to encourage you to know that if you are struggling, it’s alright to admit that. It’s OK to not be “quarantining well.” Whatever that means.

Snippet From the Show

“If you’re looking and saying, ‘What’s wrong with me? I’m not happily baking bread and giving thanks that my kids are schooling at home right now…’ I’m here to tell you, nothing is wrong with you.”

SHOWNOTES

God is not doing this to us. God is not punishing the earth and cleansing us from our sins with this horrific virus. Human error and evil has created this mess, and God is right here with us in all the ways we are suffering as a result of it.

It can be hard to see God in our suffering, but every way that we suffer is an invitation to grow closer to God and to grow in holiness as a result of seeking God in our pain.

I share two meaningful Bible passages this week for us to reflect on: Luke 7:11-15 and John 11:21-25. In these passages, we see how Jesus seeks us out and meets us in our suffering. He has pity on us and wants to heal us. We also see that inside of our suffering is a challenge from Jesus himself, asking us if we believe.

Thank you for being  part of this week’s show. Know that I am grateful for you and am praying for you always. God bless you!
