“Always remain close to the Catholic Church, because it alone can give you true peace, since it alone possesses Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the true Prince of Peace.”
-St. Padre Pio
Shownotes
Isaiah 22:15-25
Thus says the Lord God of hosts, “Come, go to this steward, to Shebna, who is over the household, and say to him: What have you to do here and whom have you here, that you have hewn here a tomb for yourself, you who hew a tomb on the height, and carve a habitation for yourself in the rock? Behold, the Lord will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize firm hold on you, and whirl you round and round, and throw you like a ball into a wide land; there you shall die, and there shall be your splendid chariots, you shame of your master’s house. I will thrust you from your office, and you will be cast down from your station. In that day I will call my servant Eli′akim the son of Hilki′ah, and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. And I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father’s house. And they will hang on him the whole weight of his father’s house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons. In that day, says the Lord of hosts, the peg that was fastened in a sure place will give way; and it will be cut down and fall, and the burden that was upon it will be cut off, for the Lord has spoken.”
Over and over, readers have told us they couldn’t put this book down. Archdiocese of St. Paul and MinneapolisJeff Cavins’ spiritual pilgrimage is quickly becoming one of the most well-known and inspiring stories of our time. We are all searching for meaning in our lives. Where did we come from, who are we, and what is the goal of life? In short, we are all in search for the narrative thread of our lives. My Life on the Rock is the story of one man’s quest for that narrative thread. How Jeff found it will not only inspire you, but also help equip you to be a better witness to others.Archbishop Robert Carlson
Archdiocese of St. LouisI have been asked many times to recommend a book or tape to give to a loved one who has left the Catholic Church. My Life on the Rock is definitely on my recommendation list. What makes Jeff’s story so appealing is that it deals with both the theological and emotional issues related to returning to the Catholic Church. The Late Bishop Paul V. Dudley
Jeff’s conversion story is an inspiration for any Christian who longs to be faithful to God’s Word. Read how Jeff re-discovered the Catholic Church as the only context in which the Bible truly comes to life. You’ll be glad you did! Scott Hahn, Ph.D.

Beautiful story; thank you for sharing such intimate details about your relationship with your dad.
Wow! thank you for sharing your beautiful story. It really shed light on what I have experience with my kids. I would listen to you bible teachings during the pandemic It really helped me, I did have a question and was wondering where I could send my question about a verse in the Bible. Thank you and may God continue to bless you! You have been a blessing.
I loved today’s episode on coming back to the Catholic Church. When Jeff was talking about his Bishop and how he had moved to Sioux Falls, my ears perked up. I know Bishop Dudley.! He served at St James Church in St Paul when I was going to school there in the 70’s. St James was close to Randolph and West 7th St. We loved Bishop Dudley. I know my mom kept in touch with him after he moved to Sioux Falls. This was a very cool blast from the past.
