We all have a responsibility to go out into the world and make disciples.

Shownotes

The Call
Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age”

Do It or Don’t Do It
Matthew 14:22-31

22 Then he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. 23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24 but the boat by this time was many furlongs distant from the land, beaten by the waves; for the wind was against them. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” 28 And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, bid me come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus; 30 but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “O man of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Looking for Opportunities
Acts 3:6-8

6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

Luke 1:37

37 For with God nothing will be impossible.

What I Learned: The Story About the Car and the Ice Storm
  1. I saw a need and thought I might be able to do something.
  2. The Lord can speak to me…and you! It was much easier than I thought it would be.
  3. I don’t need to be afraid, I need to be gently bold.
  4. I found that there was something I had to give away and that was the Lord.
  5. I continue to pray about that encounter and I’m quite sure she has told that story to many people.
  6. You can do it. Keep your eyes and ears open. Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is why you were confirmed.
