6 Ways to Dive Into Advent

Ready or not, here is Advent! This week, Danielle shares six simple ideas to encourage you not to look at Advent as an exhausting season that you need to create, but as an invitation from God to grow deeper in your relationship with him.

Snippet From the Show
How are you going to prepare your heart to receive Jesus? In what ways is God calling you closer to him during the season of Advent?

6 Ways to Dive Into Advent

1. Do something more.

What is one little new commitment you can take on until Christmas?

2. Do something less.

What could you let go of to make more time for what matters?

3. Give something more.

Who needs your time, energy and attention right now?

4. Give something less.

Is there something in your life that “takes” from you in an unhealthy way?

5. Read something more.

What does God want you to read? (Consider reading the Gospel of Luke with us in the Girlfriends Community or reading along with Catholic Classics!)

6. Read something less.

What “stuff” do you take in each day that God might want you to take in less of?

Listener Question (31:40)

At the end of today’s show, I share a question from listener Courtney who asked for encouragement and suggestions as she presses on through pregnancy-related sickness while raising her toddler.

Song of the Week

This week’s song Come Close by One Hope Project. A lovely reflective song for the season of Advent! What are you listening to?

Danielle’s new book, Whisper: Finding God in the Everyday, is available to order!
