You’ve heard of New Year’s resolutions, and maybe you’ve even made some for this year, but have you heard of a Word of the Year?
Fr. Mark-Mary shares the concept of prayerfully asking the Lord to reveal a word, Scripture passage, or Biblical story for us to focus on throughout the coming year. He encourages us to ask God to share this focus, orient us to his will, and then keep this word before us as we prepare to traverse the desert of 2023.
Meet Fr. Mark-Mary
Father Mark-Mary was ordained as a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal (CFR) in 2018 and lives at a friary in the Bronx.
The mission of the CFRs is to wholeheartedly embrace Jesus through fidelity to the Church and her Sacraments. Paired with their commitment to prayer, contemplation, and study of Sacred Scripture, the CFRs serve those around them, especially the poor, in the footsteps of Christ.
