Bobby was never ready to be a father. In fact, he asserts that no man ever really is, but God makes men ready for it when the time comes—so ultimately it is a blessing to say yes to fatherhood.
Our society is in a crisis when it comes to the family unit. The reasons for the crisis are many, but one major reason is absentee fathers.
If enough men choose to be fathers, and to be involved in their children’s lives, they will do more than end the crisis. They will bring about the healing in our culture that only fatherhood can bring.
