Inside the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, Jeff Cavins recaps Jesus’ walk from bondage to crucifixion. This church commemorates when Peter denied Jesus three times, and is built over the dungeon where Jesus was kept before his trial. Jeff connects Jesus’ journey through his passion with Israel’s journey from bondage to freedom in the Old Testament. Unlike the Israelites, though, Jesus did not lose faith and kept going on the road to Calvary even after being denied and thrown in prison, even knowing he would be crucified.
