Spiritual Procrastination (All the Good Things—Except God’s Will)

“Doing spiritual things doesn’t always mean you’re doing God’s will.”

Sometimes, when it hurts to dig deep and get to the heart of the matter with God in prayer, we distract ourselves. And we don’t always distract ourselves with bad things. We can pray good prayers, perform good works, and read good spiritual reading—all the while avoiding the healing that God so desperately desires for us.

Today, Fr. Mark-Mary challenges us to examine our hearts and ask Jesus the same thing the rich man asked him: “What do I still lack?” Let’s be open to his answer!
