Lifting Up Your Life to God

Fr. Mark-Mary uses what he calls a “life novena” to lift up his life to God, and pray for the tough stuff, like the recovery of a friend in the hospital or deliverance for someone dealing with a drug addiction. In this video, he explains what he means by a “life novena”.

Pope St. John Paul II said sacrifice united with prayer is the greatest power in human history. Also, in Romans 12:1, St. Paul says to “present your body as a living sacrifice,” meaning we can and should offer up to God all the actions we perform. Fr. Mark-Mary figures, why not make this offering into a novena, where we intentionally offer up every action, every decision, and every prayer, for those deep intentions in our hearts.

For nine days, we can use this life novena to strengthen our prayers by making our very lives our prayer. Nine days of sacrifices, good works, avoiding evil, for the deepest intentions of your heart, can be the most powerful experience you’ve had in a while, or even in your entire life. It can also reveal how God can work in your life, and those of others who are in need, when you let him.
