The time before and after a breakup can be scary and heartbreaking, but Jackie offers a refreshing perspective here. She says if either you or your significant other wants to break up, there’s no point in wasting your time or their time because you deserve someone who wants to be with you, and so does he or she.
But, even after a healthy breakup, there will be a gaping hole, so it’s important to set boundaries at that time so there can be proper closure in the relationship.
Jackie also says it’s much more difficult to end a relationship if you were sleeping with the person. Of course, this should be avoided before marriage, but if your relationship did go down that wrong path it’s still no excuse to stay in the relationship. The bond may have seemed to mean a great deal to both of you, but it was premature and not God’s plan for either of you.
If either of you want to break up, you weren’t right for each other and the person who broke up with you did you a favor by setting you free to discover what God has planned for you. If there is still pain in your heart after considering all this, run to Jesus because he will heal you.
