Father Mike Schmitz discusses why we are so drawn to heroes. In anticipation of the Batman vs. Superman movie coming next spring, he shares why we should care about the quality of the heroes our culture creates. Today we tend to bring down our heroes to a more normal, human level and make them less worthy of our aspirations. Fr. Mike contends that the most important thing about heroes are their character and virtue. He describes the lack of virtue in the super heroes of many of today’s movies, and explains why he believes Batman and Superman are the last true heroes among them.
