Ennie Hickman kicks off the Ascension Cafe and announces the theme, “Love is Our Mission.” Hickman teaches the audience of youths how all of the stuff the world offers will have to eventually “go back in the box.” He points out that the stress in our lives is due to our “feverish pursuit of frivolous pleasures.” While these pleasures may give us temporary happiness, our faith can give us deeper lasting joy founded upon God’s love for not what we do but who we are.

Worship is not about what we get, but about what we can give. When it comes to Mass, we often complain that we "don't get anything out of it". Is that what Mass is about? Is that what love is about? Or is love (and worship) about what we can give?
